When executing the commands in the install steps below, kindly exercise patience as the necessary packages may take some time to install.
You will be asked to put your device into DFU mode in step 1, and 6 below, so make sure you know how, so look online or on YouTube on how to put your device that you have into DFU mode.
if your device is checkm8 compatible and running iOS 15.0-16.2, you can jailbreak with palera1n and bypass iCloud activation lock! If you don’t know if your device supports the palera1n jailbreak, click -> “FAQ”.
Darkra1n Tutorial
DarkRa1n is a iCloud Bypass Tool that you can use to semi bypass iCloud activation lock on iOS 15.0-16.2 on checkm8 compatible devices.
Note: This is not a full iCloud activation bypass, so if your device reboots or dies, you need to run the tool again, you also won’t have signal if you got a sim card installed, and iCloud and several other Apple services aren’t going to work (e.g. FaceTime, & iMessage). However, singing into your Apple ID in the App Store and downloading apps should work fine.
Having signal will be a paid feature, coming in the future.
Bypassing iCloud Activation Lock
(Step by Step)
Instructions on how to bypass iCloud activation lock with darkra1n can be found below. If you need help jailbreaking your device with palera1n, you can click -> “Jailbreak help“.
Step 1 (Fresh wiping your device)
Put the device into DFU mode, then restore it. *If you need help booting into DFU mode, search how to do so online.* After you restore the device, so basically it’s been freshly wiped, jailbreak the device with palera1n (tutorial here), then continue on step 2 below.
Step 2 (Downloading Darkra1n)
Download a Darkra1n version from here -> “DOWNLOADS”. Double-click the downloaded file to open it; you will then see a new folder “DarkRa1n-iOS-15-16.2, followed by the darkra1n version number”. (Be sure to take note of the location of the folder because we’ll need it for later.)
Step 3 (Installing Homebrew)
We must now install Homebrew in order to download the rest of the packages we need for this checkm8 jailbreak, so launch your browser, navigate to brew.sh, copy the command that appears below the words “Install Homebrew,” then open a new terminal window, paste the command there (just like in the image above), then hit enter to install homebrew and all of its required packages.
Step 4 (Installing the other required packages)
Open Terminal, then type cd (drag darkra1n folder here, just like in the image above), then right after with no spaces, type semi colon, then type bash ./install_deps.sh, then hit enter. After that, follow any pop-up instructions that might appear, and, if necessary, enter your Mac password when asked too. (Terminal might say blackra1n, but the name of the software has been changed to darkra1n, but there’s nothing to worry about)
Step 5 (Launching Darkra1n)
Firstly, open a new terminal window, then type: sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine *drag darkra1n folder here*, then hit enter. This command fixes any potential issues loading files that were downloaded from the internet.
Now, open another terminal window, then type: cd *drag darkra1n folder here*, then right after the version number, type semi-colon python3 palera1n.py, then click enter to open the darkra1n app.
Step 6 (Bypassing iCloud activation lock)
Now, it’s time to bypass iCloud activation lock! (See palera1n supported devices / software versions here) Click STORM iCloud!, once clicked, follow all the on screen instructions.
Step 7 (Success!)
Once it’s finished, your device will be in recovery mode, go ahead and use palera1n GUI to re-jailbreak your device and use *tethered jailbreak* instead of *semi-tethered* “need help jailbreaking?, click me*. After your devices boots, set it up as you would (but don’t login into an Apple ID).
After your device is on the home screen, you can launch palera1n on your device, then click install. After you click install, if you get an alert saying “Substitute – Request for Permission”, click on any option, then respring. After your device has resprung, launch Sileo, then click on the updates tab. Before you click upgrade all, the latest diskdevs-cmds update might not work well with iOS 15/16, so I would advise for you to click on diskdevs-cmds then click on the 3 dots in the top right corner, then ignore future updates, then click on the updates tab again then upgrade all. Then you are off! Start installing compatible tweaks, and enjoy your jailbroken device!

PLEASE WIPE THE DEVICE FRESH BEFORE STARTING.
Palera1n jailbreak IOS Hacker Utility
Then Palera1n jailbreak it, then read the DarkRa1n README!!!
After that, run the tool and start iCloud Bypass.
Click STORM iCloud!
Once it completes, it will go in recovery mode.
All you need to do is now Rejailbreak the same way you did and that’s it.

Questions and Answers:
Q: What happens if my device reboots or runs out of battery?
A: Easy. Just connect to your computer and run palera1n again jb. That’s it.
Q: Device doesn’t boot after re-jailbreaking!?
A: If your device doesn’t want to boot after the second jailbreak – go to palera1n folder and delete these folders: blobs, boot-iPhone
(it may be boot-iPod, boot-iPhone, boot-iPad) – delete it!
and also go to ramdisk and delete the folder: sshramdisk
Now try the palera1n jailbreak again. The device should now boot!
Q: I don’t see and cannot find the palera1n app!!?
A: Connect to WiFi. Don’t use a sim. Wait and device will respring with app!
Q: Will Signal based edition be Free on Release ?
A: …no. It will never be free. I’m still developing it. Once I got a working version I’ll post on my twitter.
